Kate Middleton has been diagnosed with cancer. The Princess of Wales announced the grim news on Friday via video message. Middleton explained that at the time of her abdominal surgery, her condition was thought to be non-cancerous, but post-operative tests revealed cancer. “This was obviously a huge shock and William and I have done everything we could to process this and deal with it privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate, 42, said in the video.
“As you can imagine, it took some time. It took some time for me to recover from the serious surgery before I could begin treatment.” While Middleton didn’t reveal the type of cancer, she did share that she began “preventative chemotherapy” in February.
