Woman goes to help a stuck turtle and can’t believe her eyes when she picks it up…

Irene Rodríguez was returning to her garden after walking her son in a stroller when she noticed a turtle stuck in the fence. She had seen and helped the same turtle before and decided to stop and help it get over the fence safely!!! “I walked up to her and saw that her head and front legs were stuck in the fence,” Rodríguez told The Dodo. “I’m pretty sure the turtle could crawl back, so I didn’t think it was really stuck. I just wanted to help her get to the other side since I’ve tried to go through it before.

She didn’t seem to mind that I was there.” The turtle seemed to trust Rodríguez because he had helped him before. First she took a photo to show her husband the turtle she wanted to save, and then she got to work. She went to pick up the turtle and free it from the fence…but as she started picking up the turtle, she quickly realized she wasn’t alone. Underneath the turtle that was there was a very large snake. When she first approached the turtle, Rodríguez couldn’t see the snake at all.

The turtle hung casually on the snake, which was a poisonous bronze-headed snake. The snake didn’t seem to pay much attention to the two of them, and the turtle seemed perfectly fine, but it was still the case.

Rodríguez thought it was better to be safe than sorry, and decided to continue with her plan to free the turtle from the fence and get him away from his unusual friend. She got a shovel and then carefully tried to pick up the turtle and move it away from the fence without hurting or disturbing the snake. However, as soon as the shovel appeared, the snake decided it had had enough and slowly snaked its way into a nearby hole. Rodríguez was eventually able to free the turtle and take it to a safe area.

The turtle then took off, and Rodríguez was finally able to process what had just happened. She had helped a turtle and met a snake at the same time, and it was definitely not what she expected from a simple turtle rescue. She hasn’t seen the turtle or the snake since — but if she ever sees the turtle again, she’ll definitely check out who’s underneath her.
