As at other international airports, it is common practice at Memmingerberg Airport in Bavaria for customs officers to process baggage for arriving passengers. As the family approached the officers, staff heard noises coming from the girl’s backpack.
The 5-year-old girl arrived from Jordan with her family. Once the officer opened the bag and put his hand in it, he smelled fluffy. But it wasn’t a stuffed animal. To his surprise, the staff found a cat in the paddy bag.
By the way, this is considered an administrative offense that can lead to heavy changes. The family had no choice but to leave the kitten at an animal shelter in Jordan.
