In 1983, when 24-year-old Patricia Clarke became pregnant, she had a feeling her unborn child would be big. She knew there were large families in her family because she had already given birth to one. However, the size of the baby she carried was completely unexpected. Kevin Robert Clark was born to Patricia and he was over 16 pounds, a huge baby. He was the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital and perhaps in all of New Jersey at the time. His parents were relieved to find that Kevin was in perfect health, even though he couldn’t fit into a standard-size bed and his baby clothes were too small.
As expected, his stature was immediately apparent. His national fame skyrocketed after being featured on “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America,” among other shows. Start by setting a good example. Unfortunately, Kevin wasn’t done taking center stage yet. He was 5 feet, 7 inches tall at age 12, according to the New York Post. Entering college, he was 6 feet and 5 inches tall. It continued to develop afterward. “There’s not a day that goes by that someone doesn’t ask me how tall I am,” Kevin told the Post. “I like to joke that I’m 5 feet 21 inches tall. When people ask me if I play basketball, I ask them if they play miniature golf. Today, Tom is 40 years old. His 6-foot-tall wife and Great Dane live with him; he is a former military man.

Being in the spotlight at birth and spending much of your childhood with people staring at you and asking questions must be challenging.
