Mother-in-law gives special wedding vows to four-year-old – her reaction breaks our hearts

It’s comforting to celebrate the start of a new life with a loved one by attending their wedding.

Guests at the wedding of USMC Sgt. Joshua Newville and Senior Airman Emily Leehan were expecting to have a great time, but they also witnessed one of the most unforgettable moments in history.

Leehan had prepared vows for her stepson Gage, and as she began reading them aloud, the adorable little boy couldn’t contain his excitement about his father’s wedding. It was obvious that he not only accepted his future mother, but was also delighted with his father’s choice.

Leehan, noticing Gage’s wide-eyed gaze, turned to him and began to read their wedding vows.

At the end of his speech, everyone in the room said “awww” because it was so heartfelt. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, but it was Gage’s adorable reaction that got everyone talking.

He was sobbing uncontrollably as he clung to his stepmother and listened to her heartfelt words.

“I want you to be safe, do your best and be a good person,” Leehan said. She then comforted him by telling him, “Don’t cry, baby,” as she noticed that the emotional moment was upsetting for the child.

Leehan continued, “The last thing I hope you learn is that you are a special boy. You are incredibly intelligent, beautiful and kind to others. You have helped make me the woman I am today, and I may not have given you the gift of life, but life has surely given me the gift of you.

After taking a moment to gather themselves, the two exchanged vows.

After the ceremony, it was reported that the newlyweds returned to work. They both had to report to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, so their honeymoon had to be postponed.
