Startling update on Celine Dion after ‘impossible’ health battle – ‘there’s little we can do’

London, UK – July 5th 2019:
Celine Dion performs live on stage at British Summertime at Hyde Park o London, England. London, England.

Celine Dion, one of the most famous names in the world of music, has been diagnosed with an extremely rare autoimmune disease which affects one in a million. Unfortunately, the singer has been experiencing extremely tough time walking, and even speaking, which completely limited her ability to perform on stage.

The disease in question is Stiff Person Syndrome, a neurological disorder that leads to muscle rigidity and excruciating spasms.

A representative spoke to the public in the past and explained that Dion was forced to cancel several concert dates in Las Vegas due to the condition.

“Celine has been experiencing severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing,” the statement read.

Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat her. However, the symptoms she is experiencing are prohibiting her from participating in the ongoing rehearsals for the new show.”

Sadly, it seems like her health hasn’t improved much. The singer posted two videos on her social media, one in English and one in French, in which she said that due to her serious sickness, she is unable to “sing the way I’m used to.”

She added that the muscle spasm impacts every aspect of her everyday living. “It’s been incredibly difficult for me to face these obstacles and talk about everything that has happened to me,” she continued. “I’ve had health problems for quite some time.” Her tours have been postponed again. “I can only sing,” Dion added. “I’ve done that my whole life. And it’s what I’m most passionate about.

Now, her sister Claudette has provided fans with an update on Dion’s health condition.

“We are keeping our fingers crossed in the quest to find a remedy for Celine’s distressing ailment. The spasms are uncontrollable,” Claudette said.

Speaking of the condition, she explained what it actually feels like to be living with it.

“You know how people often abruptly wake up due to a leg or calf cramp? It’s somewhat akin to that, but it affects all her muscles. There’s little we can do to ease her suffering.”

“She’s putting in every effort to regain her health. She’s a resilient woman,” she added, appreciating her sister.

Claudette revealed that Dion is taken care of by her other sister, Linda, and that her children are also by her side.

Speaking to Le Journal de Montreal, Claudette said of her sister, “When I call her and she’s busy, I speak to my sister Linda, who lives with her and tells me that she’s working hard.

“She’s listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible,” she added.
