A driver stops his train to save a small dog lost near the tracks

In England, a train driver spotted a small dog lost near the train tracks. Immediately, he stopped the train to save the animal and bring it on board.

Poppy is a small pug dog who ran away a few days ago, scared by a speeding car. Its owners, desperate, searched for it all night, in vain. Luckily, Poppy was spotted by an eagle-eyed train conductor.

Michael Jones, the driver, was directing his train when suddenly he saw a red flash on the side, near the tracks. It was Poppy’s harness that was hidden in a hedge near the train tracks .

Immediately, the train driver stopped his vehicle. He descended on the tracks and discovered the frightened and lost little dog .

“Without thinking, I jumped off the wagon and rushed as fast as I could to see if I could find this little dog. He looked so sad and lonely, he was shaking and staring at the floor. I sincerely believe that if I hadn’t spotted him, he would never have been found ,” he said.

The conductor then took Poppy back to the train and sheltered him in his carriage for 20 minutes. He gave him food and water and warned his colleagues. At the same time, a 60-year-old woman reported the disappearance of her dog, which had just been found. The train driver then received special permission to stop his vehicle at the nearest station to Poppy’s owner.

After a moving reunion, the sixty-something immediately took her pet to the vet. More fear than harm since Poppy was healthy and had no injuries.
