Helped by two passers-by, a student thwarts a kidnapping attempt and saves a 3-year-old girl

In Saint-Quentin, in Hauts-de-France, three people managed to neutralize an individual who was trying to kidnap a three-year-old girl.

Thursday March 24, 2022, a three-year-old girl was rescued in Saint-Quentin, a town located in Hauts-de-France. Indeed, a man tried to kidnap the girl by opening the rear door of the car in which she was sitting.

“I was near the IUT when it happened ,” said the girl’s mother. I had just left home to drive my daughter to school. Everything then went very quickly. Someone attacked my daughter. I immediately tried to get him out of the car, but I had no more strength. I then called for help.”

Martin Lesieur is a 20-year-old student who was going to school when the attempted kidnapping occurred . Alerted by the cries of the mother, he decided to intervene, helped by two other people who were passing in the street at that time.

“He was intervening, he was trying to grab the girl. When the mother shouted for help, she said it was a stranger, I went. He fell badly, I practice self-defense , ”he said.

The young man, who is preparing for competitions to start a military career and join the air force, managed to neutralize the individual until the police arrived by pinning him to the ground. Thanks to his intervention, the kidnapper was arrested by the police. The latter publicly thanked the young man for his intervention by posting a message on his Facebook page.

“A big thank you to the young man who intervened for his citizen gesture which undoubtedly made it possible to avoid a tragedy” , can we read on the publication.

During the arrest of the kidnapper, the police discovered that he had committed an attack on a jogger in Saint-Quentin a few minutes before the kidnapping attempt. He was placed in a psychiatric institution “in view of his state of health”.
