A popular 91-year-old model showed her youth photos

Carmen Dell’Orefice, 91, despite her age, is now a sought-after and famous model.

She had her first modeling experience at the age of 14. Carmen participated in the filming of Vogue. Then she conquered most photographers with her beauty.

Our heroine was born in the family of a ballerina and a violinist. They lived in poverty. After her parents divorced, the girl remained with her mother. Mom wanted her daughter to be a ballerina and gave her to ballet.

The girl was constantly criticized by her parents, because she was a strict and even rude woman, she constantly did not like the appearance of her daughter.

Carmen considered herself ugly because she was the tallest and thinnest among her peers and was not at all popular with boys.

Due to the great lack of money, the girl could live in a boarding school for months. She dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but after suffering from rheumatism it became impossible.

But all the same, Carmen achieved a lot, at the age of 14 her modeling career began. In 1947, his photo made the cover of Vogue.

The model admitted that she didn’t like this photo, when she saw her daughter almost crying – the hairstyle made her look like a boy.

The celebrity had a difficult childhood. She and her mother lived without many conveniences, there was still not enough money. They had to pawn a sewing machine to pay for the apartment.

To pay for electricity, they spent the whole month raising funds. Now, with such experience, a woman really knows how to value money and life.

In 1963, the model decides to end her career, but her agent bursts out laughing when she finds out, because she knows that work is our heroine’s life.

In 1978, Carmen met Norman Parkinson, who brought her back into the world of fashion. The model accepted the offer, since her daughter was already an adult, and the marriage broke up.

Most often, women try to hide age-related changes in their appearance. However, Carmen did not look younger or dyed her hair – on the contrary, she bleached it, making the silver hue her highlight. In 1987, the woman was again very popular and in demand.

By the way, Carmen has written a book in which she shares her experience, entitled: “Being Beautiful: Secrets and Techniques I’ve Learned in 40 Years of Modeling”.
