The Chihuahua ended up at Fuzz Ball Animal Rescue in Hermiston, Oregon after a car accident during birth. According to the rescue’s Facebook, the dog was taken to Oregon Trail Veterinary Clinic to have her leg amputated due to injuries from the accident.
Xena also had to have an emergency C-section because her baby was too big for a natural birth. On Wednesday, the rescue shared the happy ending to this terrible story: The mama Chihuahua survived her surgeries and so did her healthy baby boy. “It’s so wonderful to see that they’re both doing well!
This is truly a miracle. This mom is a fighter and so is her baby,” the rescue wrote on Facebook. “After being run over in the street, in labor with a puppy that was too big to come out, and then surviving a C-section and leg amputation in shock!
They are little miracles!”
