A strange form called neuroblastoma
Luke Bell, an 8-year-old boy, was diagnosed with a strange form of this terrible disease called neuroblastoma. Since then, he has started his fight against cancer.

Chemotherapy, surgery…
In hopes of removing the tumor from his body, the child underwent chemotherapy, as well as surgery. After a few months, life finally smiled on Luke. Indeed, the boy managed to get rid of the illness… but not for long.

Spread to the bone
A few months later, the dreadful illness knocked on Luke Bell’s door again. Worse still, the cancer had spread to the little boy’s bones.

A few weeks to live
“They told us he only had a few weeks to live. A few months, at best,” said his parents, Mark and Becky Bell, not without sadness.

An expensive treatment
Finding himself in a complicated situation, the boy would have to undergo experimental treatment at the Pediatric Cancer Center at the Sant Joan de Deu Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. A treatment worth an amount of 170,000 dollars.

Call for help
With limited time and only $120,000, Mark and Becky Bell decided to make a special appeal for the remaining $50,000.

He “is no longer with us”
However, a few hours after their call, their son had lost his fight against cancer after more than a year of struggle. “We cannot describe the pain in our hearts. Our little superhero is no longer with us,” they commented.
