The Robinson family purchased a house in an isolated area with the intention of building a farm. Mrs. Robinson, who was pregnant and expecting her second child in four months, moved into the new house with her family and began preparing the baby’s room. Having previously lived in an apartment where the landlord did not allow dogs, the animal-loving Robinsons were now keen to adopt a puppy. With their 6-year-old son Matias, the couple visited an animal shelter to find a suitable dog, one who would be gentle and grow up alongside their children on the farm. Choosing Benson Touring the shelter and hearing the heartbreaking stories of several dogs, the Robinsons had a hard time deciding which dog to choose. At the end of their visit, they met a 4-year-old pit bull named Benson. With his tail between his legs and his head bowed, Benson appeared to have lost all trust in people.
Upon inquiring about Benson’s history, the Robinsons learned that he had lived a difficult life. Benson had been used in dog fighting and abandoned on the streets before being found by shelter volunteers. He had been adopted once before, but was returned to the shelter after just two weeks because the adoptive couple said he was aggressive and had behavioral problems. Despite warnings from the volunteers, Mr Robinson insisted on giving Benson a chance and adopted him. Although Benson initially struggled to adjust to his new home, he eventually bonded with each member of the family, especially Matias. Benson saves the day After Mrs. Robinson’s baby was born, the family introduced him to Benson. The dog smelled the baby and gently licked her face, assuring the family that Benson and the baby would get along well.
However, one night, when the baby was only two months old, the Robinsons were awakened by Benson’s persistent barking. Initially fearing that Benson was trying to harm the baby, they were shocked to discover that their baby had stopped breathing. The Robinsons rushed their baby to a nearby hospital, where doctors managed to revive him. The doctor informed the parents that their child would have died if he had suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest for more than 30 minutes. Benson became a hero and proved that nothing is accidental. The Robinson family saved Benson, a dog no one gave a chance to, and Benson saved their baby’s life.
