Journalists have given the name “caveman” to Angelo Mastropietro. The guy fulfilled a lifelong desire and left civilisation, relocating to a cave thought to be 250 million years old.
Angelo was once the CEO of an Australian staffing agency. But he made the decision to “go underground” in Worcestershire, leaving all the pressures of his profession behind.
The doctor gave Angelo the awful news that he had multiple sclerosis one day. The man was initially startled and perplexed. But once he regained consciousness, he thought to himself,
“I want to live somewhere that will make my life healthier and happier.”
Before realizing his boyhood ambition, the father of two had to move nearly 80 tons of stone!
Since Angelo Mastropietro was born and raised in Worcestershire, he was familiar with the cave. Although it was formerly a habitation, it has remained vacant since the 1940s.
The oldest rock house that had survived in Europe up to the 20th century was then purchased by the guy. He had to contribute a little over £62,000 in all. The guy then started the time-consuming and costly process of designing the cave. Angelo spent a thousand hours finishing the cave.
The most serene and comfortable space in the home is in Angelo’s bedroom!

And in this image, the cave’s owner is seen relaxing in the bathtub. Angelo was soon unable to heat enough water to fill it, so it was converted to a shower room.
The kitchen was personally designed by Angelo Mastropietro. It seems quite opulent!
Angelo’s residence still has a nod to the cave’s past on its appearance. Nevertheless, new materials were used to complete the entire house.
Angelo used his own 80-meter-deep well to supply water to the home.
The journalists visited the “caveman” with cameras after learning about him. Their host extended them hospitality and conducted a brief interview:
“I enjoy these difficulties. Given that my last name is “master of stones,” this is undoubtedly my profession. Without a doubt, I can say that I put the same amount of enthusiasm into it as I did into my previous business. I’m pleased and proud. It has truly tested my creativity.
Angelo sought refuge from the hectic metropolis in order to improve his physical and mental health, but he did not give up the conveniences and allures of modernity. Internet, power, and sewage are all present at his home.
However, Angelo himself notes:
Despite having all the conveniences of home, it yet has a certain allure of a cave.
