Daughter Listens With Pride As Dad Sings Incredible Tennessee Whiskey Rendition In The Car

Country singer David Allan Coe released “Tennessee Whiskey” in 1981. The song gained popularity after Chris Stapleton covered it on his R&B debut album Traveler (2015). Country Thang Daily reports that this started a trend on social media of reporting on Stapleton’s playback instead of background footage.

The most popular is the 2017 cover version by Home Depot, on which Kris Jones sings Tennessee Whiskey.

Dayla, his daughter, wanted the song to show off his singing skills to her friends. Country Music Family estimates the video received 70 million views on social media in 14 months.
