Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren attended the premiere of Jeanne du Barry on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival and stunned everyone with her new looks. Once again, the 77-year-old actress, who has contributed so much to the world of cinema over the years, showed off her unique sense of style by deciding to dye her hair blue for the occasion. The color of her hair, which is usually gray as she embraces her natural look, matched her outfit, a gorgeous dress designed by Daniel Del Core. Mirren swept her newly dyed locks into a Marie Antoinette-style pouf. She did this to fit with the French historical theme of the film.
The Queen star accessorized her outfit with a silver choker and a fan that read “#WorthIt,” a nod to her role as an ambassador for L’Oréal. Many agree that the actress managed to outdo herself once again with her gorgeous and glamorous looks that made her look like she was straight out of a fairy tale. Mirren’s stylist Lee Harris, who shared a photo of the actress’ new look, wrote: “She knows how to make an entrance,” and we couldn’t agree more. In 2019, Mirren gained attention when she appeared with her pink hair.
Last year, again for the Cannes Film Festival, she donned extra-long white hair extensions and heavy eyeliner for a screening of the film Mother and Son (Un Petit Frère). At the time, she opted for a silver, beaded dress and danced alongside actor Andie MacDowell. In 2021, the actress told Vogue that going gray wasn’t a difficult transition for her. “I have to say it was very easy for me because my hair was still blonde. I was a natural blonde and although it was quite dark at times, in the summer when I spent time in the sun it would turn mostly white,” she said. “So the process of losing my hair color was very simple: I felt more and more like I had been in the sun, but all year round.” One thing is for sure, Mirren follows fashion trends and always looks spectacular.
