Young Braydon and his mother went to Walmart one day, a major food and grocery retailer in the United States. However, they hadn’t been there very long when his mother’s unexpected concern was triggered by the news that Braydon had vanished without a trace.
After a period of terrified searching, his mother was finally able to locate him.
She was angry that he had abandoned her and wanted to correct him immediately. When she saw him kneeling and praying in front of a sign, she couldn’t help but wonder why he was doing that. With that, she turned her attention back to the wall in front of her.
Even for a short period of time, the idea of a parent being separated from their child is every parent’s worst nightmare. In fact, such incidents happen quite frequently, especially in densely populated places, like shopping malls and large grocery stores.
This is how things happened for Braydon’s mother. She couldn’t wait to finish shopping at Walmart, one of the largest and busiest retail companies in the world, as quickly as possible.
According to Faith Tap, the statement made by Braydon’s mother read: “I had to rush to Walmart. I did a double take to make sure my son was still standing right beside me.
Braydon thought he was being sneaky when he quickly made plans to move away from his mother.
When she finally found it, Braydon was hunched over a panel, trying his best to read it. He was praying. Surprised, she asked him what he was doing. However, after getting a better look at the whiteboard and getting closer to it, she was able to better understand her son’s behavior.
On the board it was written: “Every second counts”. Next to these words were photos of young people who had disappeared without a trace. After little Braydon moved away from his mother’s side, he had the opportunity to see the painting and he immediately began to pray to God for the welfare of these children.
The gruesome image and the story that accompanied it quickly spread like wildfire across the Internet. After discovering Braydon’s story on Facebook, the family and friends of Aubrey Jayce Carroll, a young man who had been missing since 2016, made the decision to create a memorial for Braydon.
“I have no idea who this little boy is; but I wanted to express my gratitude to you for praying for these children. One of those children is my cousin Aubrey Carroll, who can be found up there with you.
Without a doubt, this has the power to move me. If I only knew where and who this kid was, I would be more than happy to thank him in person.
Since first posting, the image of Braydon kneeling in front of the panel has been shared on Facebook more than 115,000 times.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports that each year in the United States, missing reports are filed for about 800,000 children. Chances are you will agree with me that this is an absolutely staggering amount.
A commenter on Facebook said it best when he said, “Whether you believe in God or not doesn’t matter. While we were all shopping, this young man was helping out those in need by doing what he could. It would be in everyone’s interest if they all followed his example. The world would be better.
Looks like you figured it out, mom. The basics are the most important thing!
Good luck, dear friend. I respect the essential role that one’s faith plays in shaping one’s perspective.
