There were many different artists who performed the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. Anyway, as Straight No Chaser managed to do, no one did. It happened during their New Mexico tour. And their funny portrayal is very hard to forget.
At the start of the music, a member explained to the audience that the group will be showing their own choreography. Still, the crowd has no idea it will be such an adorable and funny moment.
Even though it is a group of capella singers, they have tried to be as unconventional as possible. They also explained their different mentality on their website. “Straight No Chaser isn’t straight or straight, but it’s also not kitsch in a vaudeville fashion.
As original member Randy Stine comments, “We take music very seriously; we don’t take ourselves too seriously. The thing is, these nice guys are trying to modernize the idea of the cappela singer.
And I think they did. Not only do they have charming and unique voices, but their style is also unique.
The group was born when the members were attending Indiana University and ever since they have been charming everyone’s heart. But, to convince yourself how good these men are, you have to watch them.
