An 80-year-old man insists on bringing his wife breakfast every morning at the nursing home. When he was asked, “Why is his wife in a retirement home?”, he replied, “She has Alzheimer’s.” He was then asked, “Would your wife be worried if you didn’t come to bring her breakfast one day?”
And he replied, “She doesn’t remember, she doesn’t even know who I am. She hasn’t recognized me in five years.” Surprised, a nurse asked him, “Why do you bring your wife breakfast every morning when she doesn’t even recognize you?”
The man smiled, looked her in the eyes, and then said, “She doesn’t know who I am, but I do. who she is.”
