Wales: Residents spot rare black fox

Earlier this week, an extremely rare black fox was spotted in Wales (United Kingdom).

For the past few days, a fox with a black coat has been walking the streets of Wales . Residents who have seen the extremely rare animal are invited to contact the RSPCA, the first animal protection association founded in the world.

As the LADbible site specifies, the canine was seen in two towns in the Vale of Glamorgan. Despite this information, RSPCA officers were unable to locate him.

According to the RSPCA, the black fox is also known as the “silver fox.” This very rare coat color is due to a melanistic form of the red fox.

” They used to be bred for their fur, but now they are kept as exotic pets ,” a spokesperson for the organization told ITV News.

Before adding: ” They have very specific needs which are not different from those of foxes living in the wild and which require specialized care “.

The association recalls that it is extremely difficult to raise and tame a fox , even if it is a very young animal. Indeed, it is a wild species that needs to live in nature. It is for this reason that the RSPCA does not advise or condone the breeding of foxes for the purpose of converting them into pets.

Also according to the British association, Great Britain is home to more than 350,000 foxes on its territory. Note that fox populations in urban areas have increased over the past 20 years.
